How it works

Built to be trusted, not to sell

Step 01

You enter real spending

Five sliders, no signup, no data leaves your browser. Defaults approximate a median two-person U.S. household.

Step 02

We rank by dollar value

For each card: spend × multiplier (capped where applicable) × point value − annual fee. Sorted high to low.

Step 03

No affiliate pressure

Results aren't sorted by who pays us — we don't take payments. The math is open; see the methodology page.

FAQ

Common questions

How does the ranking work?
For each card we multiply your monthly spend in each category by that card's earning multiplier, apply any per-category cap, sum across the year, multiply by an estimated point value, and subtract the annual fee. The card with the highest net annual value wins.
Where do the multipliers come from?
From each issuer's public marketing pages, verified within the last 30 days. Caps and excluded categories are modeled where published.
What about sign-up bonuses?
Not modeled. They're one-time, change frequently, and would distort steady-state comparisons. We show ongoing value, not a launch promotion.
Are point values conservative?
Yes — intentionally. We use the lower bound of published estimates from independent points sites so the calculator never over-promises.
